The most interesting thing about history is that it doesn’t objectively exist.What we tend to blithely refer to as historical fact is largely a construct of the present, and the vantage point from which it has been written is always culturally specific. Taking this as an absolute, one must ask the question: to what degree do the various narratives of past eras hold any credence at all, beyond mere advantageous political and religious symbolism? There is only one thing we can say about history for sure, and that is that it has largely been written by men—women more often than not being consigned to the vast obscurities of its long shadows.

It is precisely these dark corners that the feminist actor Alicia Vikander is keen to discuss when we meet on a sunny morning in a café on England’s Lane, just a stone’s throw from her home in leafy North London. Her latest film plays precisely with the malleable nature of historical narrative in order to shine a light on issues that are still prevalent today. Firebrand by Brazilian auteur Karim Aïnouz is an adaptation of Queen’s Gambit by Elizabeth Fremantle, and is duly set in the final days of English Tudor monarch Henry VIII. Its focus, however, is not on the tyrannical king, but rather the last of his wives, Catherine Parr—who somehow not only managed to survive her husband’s penchant for dispatching female heads from their shoulders, but also become the first woman to publish under her own name in Britain. | Read the full interview

Hello everyone! Alicia’s new Louis Vuitton cruise 2019 campaign film is finally online! It was directed by Ujin Lin, and features the song “Fossils” by Ben Chatwin. The label has also released 5 official photos of Alicia modelling the new collection, which have been added to our gallery in HQ. I love this photoshoot! I have also added HD screen captures from the video itself.

Hello Alicia fans! I unfortunately had to miss out on the last two weeks of Tomb Raider promotion, due to a lot going on in my offline life. During these days, Alicia was a guest at several talk shows (which we alerted you about in the days leading up to them!). Instead of making a post for each now, I’m just gonna make a master-post with all the video clips and screen captures! Some of these already got their own posts with production stills, but I have now finished adding screen captures from all the major talk shows I could find from the film promotion tour. These includes Jimmy Fallon, James Corden and Noite Com Danilo Gentili, and I have also finally added screen captures from her February appearances on Skavlan and The Graham Norton Show! With the Tomb Raider promotion coming to an end, and Alicia taking a quick (and much deserved) break before beginning the Submergence promotion, I’ve now caught up with all the interviews she has done lately! This is the 6th promotion interviews master-post this promo tour, and the biggest one we’ve done yet. These are from various countries, so keep in mind some are dubbed or subtitled. Hello Alicia fans! As you already know, our girl is covering the April 2018 issue of Marie Claire! While shooting the photoshoot for the spread, she also played a round of “Two Truths and a Lie” with the magazine, and we now have a video for you below. Screen Captures from the clip have been added to our gallery! I have also updated our gallery with additional photoshoot outtakes, as well as high quality digital scans from her full feature. I really love this photoshoot, 2018 is definitely treating us well so far!

Following the two talk shows we’ve already posted about earlier (Build Series + Good Morning America), we follow up with another one! Alicia visited “Live with Kelly and Ryan” today to promote Tomb Raider, and the duo have now uploaded a clip to their official YouTube account. Check it out below! Alicia kicked off her big New York City promotion day by visiting Good Morning America! They dished about “Tomb Raider”, and you can watch a clip from her appearance below. For those who’ve followed the full promotion tour as closely as we have, there’s unfortunately very little new information to take away from her appearance on the show. But we get to hear Alicia’s reaction to an action doll of herself/Lara! Another advantage to Good Morning America visits are the very many photographers who always wait aside – in fact, we’ve been blessed with as much as 500+ high quality photos of Alicia out and about in New York today 😉
