We finally have some news, Alicia fans! Deadline just announced that she has been brought on as a narrator for the documentary ‘Anthropocene: The Human Epoch‘, which will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this week. They also revealed that Alicia has completed the filming of her upcoming thriller ‘The Earthquake Bird‘! Stay tuned for more news on both projects.
DEADLINE EXCLUSIVE: Tomb Raider and The Danish Girl star Alicia Vikander has lent her voice to big-canvas documentary Anthropocene: The Human Epoch, which will get its world premiere this week at the Toronto Film Festival.
The science-themed doc, from filmmakers Jennifer Baichwal and Nicholas de Pencier and photographer Edward Burtynsky, contends that human impact on the planet means we have entered a new geological era.
The Toronto-based trio travelled to six of seven continents and 20 countries (the project was entirely carbon offset), documenting evidence of human domination, from concrete seawalls that cover 60% of China’s mainland coast to potash mines in Russia’s Ural Mountains, and marble quarries in Italy to surreal phosphate tailings ponds in Florida.
The film is in English, Russian, Italian, German, Mandarin and Cantonese with English subtitles. Pic is being released in Canada by Mongrel Media. Seville International is handling international sales.
“Alicia’s exceptional voice, and her considerable talent in knowing how to use it, has elevated our film enormously and brings a beauty and hope to the narration that is crucial. We are deeply honored by her participation,” Baichwal said.
The film is part of The Anthropocene Project, which also includes exhibitions, VR and books. It is the third in a trilogy of films that also include Manufactured Landscapes and Watermark.
Vikander recently wrapped shooting on the Wash Westmoreland thriller Earthquake Bird.

Hello everyone! Alicia’s new film “Submergence” (with James McAvoy) is now finally available on Digital HD from Amazon Video and iTunes, with the DVD and Blu-ray release date being set for May 15, 2018. I’ve picked up my own digital copy, and made blu-ray screen captures for our gallery! You can find the previews and links below. Make sure to purchase your very own copy of the film, as it’s a beautiful one which I very much enjoyed. As always, Alicia’s performance is impeccable! It also features several really stunning close ups, so I think you’ll love the screen captures…
Film plot: In a room with no windows on the eastern coast of Africa, a Scotsman, James More, is held captive by jihadist fighters. Thousands of miles away in the Greenland Sea, Danielle Flinders prepares to dive in a submersible to the ocean floor. In their confines they are drawn back to the Christmas of the previous year, where a chance encounter on a beach in France led to an intense and enduring romance.

Hello friends! I promised you all a treat over at our twitter account (follow us if you aren’t following already!) to make up for the lack of updates in the recent couple of weeks, so last night I added almost 400 new event photos of Alicia to our appearances section. These are all in stunning high quality, and they include several rare photos which you won’t find just anywhere else on the web. Most were additions to albums we already had before (which you can find in the first batch of links below), but there are also new photos from old events Alicia attended back in 2013 and 2014 which we didn’t already have (second batch of links). There are so many gorgeous new additions, I’ll simply let the photos speak for themselves. Happy browsing…
If it continues to be slow with Alicia news and photos in the upcoming weeks, I’ll continue working on our gallery by adding event additions from 2015-2018, as well as completing the Television Series section!

Hello Alicia fans! I unfortunately had to miss out on the last two weeks of Tomb Raider promotion, due to a lot going on in my offline life. During these days, Alicia was a guest at several talk shows (which we alerted you about in the days leading up to them!). Instead of making a post for each now, I’m just gonna make a master-post with all the video clips and screen captures! Some of these already got their own posts with production stills, but I have now finished adding screen captures from all the major talk shows I could find from the film promotion tour. These includes Jimmy Fallon, James Corden and Noite Com Danilo Gentili, and I have also finally added screen captures from her February appearances on Skavlan and The Graham Norton Show! A total of 2000+ HD screen captures have been added, and you can find links to each below. I really love watching Alicia on talk shows, as she’s always so laid back and fun – if you missed any of these while they aired, you should definitely check them out below the cut! I especially loved her Jimmy Fallon appearance, where she once again played a hilarious Swedish game with Jimmy. Have fun watching

With the Tomb Raider promotion coming to an end, and Alicia taking a quick (and much deserved) break before beginning the Submergence promotion, I’ve now caught up with all the interviews she has done lately! This is the 6th promotion interviews master-post this promo tour, and the biggest one we’ve done yet. These are from various countries, so keep in mind some are dubbed or subtitled. In addition to the new videos, I have also updated our gallery with screen captures from the majority of them. For all the new additions, just head over to our Screen Captures > Interviews section! Have fun watching – I will be catching up on her recent talk shows up next, stay tuned. For those interested, here you can find the previous video posts: Post 1, Post 2, Post 3, Post 4, Post 5.
